Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 Amendment 2024
- Effective on 7th July 2024
- Compound fee raised from RM2,000 to 50% of maximum fine
- Maximum fine raised to RM 10 million for offences on water pollution into Malaysian waters and illegal dumping
- Mandatory prison sentence of not more than 5 years for offences on illegal dumping, water pollution & EIA
